Challenge 6 Results

Here we are, at week 6 of Project GirlSense. That means that an incredible 6 weeks have flown by since all of you signed up for this competition. This week, you all were prompted to create a couture, very expensive looking, lush (Ange, do you like my word choice? xD) dress/gown with only your assigned dress. Extra items to add on to the actual dress were not prohibited, and you were only permitted to use the dress once. I have to say that we were kind of disappointed this week; nothing really met our expectations. Let's see how the gals did.

Pugz: I must say, this is a huge step down for you, Pugz. Last week and all the previous weeks, you did an outstanding job and all of your entries were just phenomenal. This week, we were a little disappointed. First off, in the rules, it states that additional pieces of clothing may not be added to the dress (ie. tights and over-coat) and by not following the rules, points were deducted. Adding decos to this dress would have done you lots. The dress is cute and all, but really really too simple for the standards that you've set throughout this competition. We know how amazingly amazing you are, but this challenge really wasn't your best at all. If it wasn't for your immunity this week, you really could've gotten the boot. And that would've been such a let down, seeing how fabulous you have been. Another major aspect of this challenge was to create something high-fashion, which the dress really lacked. It was too plain and almost flat looking. The shoes were also a little strange considering the delecate feeling you created with the dress. We really want you to step it back up next week!

Mall: *Sigh* Mall, I don't know how to tell you this, so I'll try my best...*stands up and gives a round of applause* GREAT JOB this week!!! We are SOO glad to see you stepping out of your comfort zone and using buttons, something that you don't normally use. This dress is absolutely gorgeous, and the beading is great. The layering is fabulous, a great touch to the overall look of the dress. The green accented the tan/brown very nicely, and we are so happy that you stepped up to the plate! We were just amazed at how you turned such a weird dress to absolutely fabulous! Great job this week! Criticism? Just one itsy- bitsy thing. We would've liked to see maybe a couple of bracelets, or maybe even a ring? A necklace is just out of the question because you already have a busy top.

Ange: Ange, must you always wow us each week?! This is by far your best yet. We are just simply so proud of your great improvements and accomplishments this competition. The beading is so great, and everything is just fabulous. One judge said "If the others don't watch out, Ange could definitely swoop in and take the competition!" Everything was just great, but the only complaint was the eyshadow-it seemed just a tad bit rushed. Also, a tip for shading: when you have the light creases, always add darker stains next to the light stains to create depth. (: There really isn't much to say about this except that it's just awesome! Fabulous job this week!

Faboo: Faboo gal, I have to break it to you and just tell you the truth. Week after week, I have constantly told you to step it up and really bring all you've got to this competition, and week after week, you've responded with very simple and laid-back entries. At this point in the competition, we're looking for the best of the best, and it just seemed as if you didn't really care about the competition as a whole. Sure, this dress is pretty. But did it really take much effort? This isn't the most couture dress, and the shoes have completely ZERO attention except color change. We were really expecting more from you after we constantly told you that if you wanted to stay in this competition, it was going to take more. Instead of tracing over a stamp in the FDS, you could've made your OWN design or shaded areas of the dress. This all could've helped you to earn a higher score. It would be a shame to see you go this week...I wish you the best of luck! (:

Katy: Okay, let's be honest. This is gorgeous, but is it couture? No, not really. Do you remember at the very beginning of this competition, where we said that understanding the main idea of the challenge was an essential part to earning a high score? It almost seems like this thought was disregarded in this outfit. OF COURSE this is gorgeous, but it really isn't couture. It's definitely unique (and that's what I always ADORE!!! about your entries) but the cut on the bottom made it look less couture-like. The roses on the top of the dress aren't the same color as the purse and shoes so I was a lil' concerned there...xD. So, yes, this is cute, but unfortunately it wasn't exactly what we were looking for.

Swimmer: Okay, you get cupcakes for finally giving us what you've got, and this dress is definitely pretty. However, we feel like you're still not there yet. The color of the dress is very cool...a very dark magenta-ish, and I loved that. The cut of the dress, on the other hand, looks very boxed like and stuff. The belts in the waist area was kind of strange, because there is this one purple one that really sticks out too much. The entry feels a bit rushed, but we're happy that you're improving. Yes, this outift is kind of high fashion, but nothing really stands out about it. I could probably find 10 other dresses on GS that have the same look. We wanted something elegant, yet wild. And again, like Faboo.....the shoes?! No attention whatsoever, and we'd like more with the shoes! BTW awesome print screen ;)

Chloe: Sooo many of you gals this week haven't gotten the idea of COUTURE. Yes, this is pretty, but is it really couture? No. It screams 'BEACH PARTY MALIBU BARBIE' rather than 'COUTURE, ELEGANT, MYSTERIOUS'. If you had at the very minumum cut the dress to fit on the modell, we may have thrown in some extra points. But unfortunately, you didn't. HOWEVER, I have to give you brownies for doing something so out of the ordinary and crazy. But this isn't elegant and couture-like. Like many of the other girls, you didn't fully understand the theme of the challenge like we'd hoped. I can't say much except read carefully!
