Challenge 7 Results

Welcome to Project GirlSense...week 7. These past few weeks have been quite terbulent, with dropouts from some of our best competitors, and having others drop down from the top to the bottom. You never know what to expect on Project GirlSense, do you? This week, the gals were split up into two teams: Team Europe and Team Harajuku. Each team was to create an outfit that represents that area of the world. The outfits had to be cohesive with their partners'. We're going to keep the personal critiques short due to only one judge sending in comments. :O xD
Let's get started.
TEAM EUROPE
Katy, Mall, Swimmer
Overall: Okay, so, yes, of course all the outfits fit together. Mostly because of the color scheme, though. This was a little too boring, and I don't know why you guys chose those colors...they're a little dull and not exactly high fashion. Sure, they are elegant and classy, but european fashion consists of BOLD and FIERCE things-not soft and classic. In addition, BIG lack of communication here. Let's see why:
Katy: Alright, let's be honest. This is a little too simple and not what we expect from the Katy we know. We always see you having big and bold-and not to mention VERY unique-fashions. This really wasn't your highlight in the competition. However, the belt is very pretty. Although, this isn't nearly close to high fashion. Like, at all. D; Next week, we want our good ol' Katy back. ;)




















Swimmer: Okay, so we're getting there. This is getting closer to high fashion but still isn't there yet. It definitely has that European feel, but as one judge put it, it's too easy to make on the FDS. It really is. It's almost like you could've cared less about the outfit. The hair, however, does add a nice touch. As far as the shading goes, add dark shading to both sides of the skirt to make it have depth instead of only one side. Not much to say except we really are getting the sense that you don't want this.


































Mall: Mall, just stop. Please, knock it off. Because everytime I look at your outfits, it knocks the air outta me. Honestly, this is very very nice. There really isn't anything else to say to it other than: awesome neck thing, great tights, perfect shoes, nice belt, awesome hair. HOWEVER, your outfit is the one that stands out in the mini-collection with your partneres. They incorporated a large amount of grey into their main outfit (not accessories i.e. tights) and yours doesn't (if you don't count the belt). Katy's and Swimmer's match up fine, but yours doesn't. But the thing is, if I were to say who's outfit was the best this week between you three, it would be yours. So in the essence of that, it isn't a big deal that yours doesn't go with their because yours stands out the most in a good way. There was a big lack of communication though in your group.

TEAM HARAJUKU
Ange, Chloe, Pugz
Overall: Communication? THE SAME as TEAM EUROPE. Sorry gals, but these outfits just don't match at all. Sure, they all had socks and ties, but they just didn't really hook. Let's take a look.
Ange: Let's start out with the obvious: the accessories are just amazing. It's obvious that you worked super hard in creating them, and the effort shows. The only thing I'm really not sure of is the pink/purple clash. Those colors really don't mix well. Unfortunately I had to dock of some points for that...I mean I don't know if you noticed it, but they REALLY clashed. Instead of pink or purple, you could've replaced one of the colors with black. The socks are way too bright against the whole outfit. A major issue with some of your outfits, Ange, is that sometimes your colors don't match. However, if you fix that, MAN will you totally have a place in the finale or WHAT? ;)

























Chloe: My personal favorite for this week, and you receive a near-perfect score from me. I don't know why, but I just love the boyish effect given off by this. The colors are perfect, the tie was very cool, and the jacket is spunky. Just one thing though: I feel like you could've done a little bit MORE instead of leaving the jacket/top kinda plain like that. The socks could've also had a cool design, too. Besides that, everything is great about this, and I really don't have any other comments than GREAT job!

























Pugzy: CUTE! School girl? Yes. Harajuku? No. For that, I had to take off. :( Very cute outfit-everything makes it feel like a school girl type thing. But if you look at Chloe and Ange's you can see that a sort of harajuku vibe is given off. It's a very spunky, teenage, youthful look, and this is a little too strict, if you get what I mean. As in, it was VERY simple being compared to Ange's, let's say. However, this is very well crafted! (:
