Challenge 3 Results

Welcome to Project GirlSense, where the unexpected is expected. This week, the contestants were instructed to create a bathing suit that could double as an outfit for an evening party. I'm personally very proud with the improvements this week, seeing as everyone grasped the theme very well. All but one, who will be unfortunately eliminated this week. Let's get started.
In no particular order, here are the entries accompanied with their comments.
Please keep in mind that Chloe has immunity from being eliminated this week due to winning the last challenge.

Lizzy: You never cease to amaze us, Lizzy. This is a great outfit. Everything is perfect about this. This is a great party outfit. However, how in the world would you swim in it? One of the judges thought that you didn't read the challenge all the way. This is TOO dressy for swimming. Another judge was pretty upset about that, because it's such a lovely design. Also, when doing a style like this (pants/cape/coattails) you MUST texture it right or else it ends up looking like the legs are "stuck" on. Since there is no texture or shading near the thigh area, you can't tell where the shorts/skirt is compared to the rear part. One judge thought the shoes were very cute, except you should've made the decos smaller because the overall shoe looks pretty bulky. However, this design is one of a kind, neat, and fulfills the theme really well! Again, the long cape would not be exactly comfortable for swimming. Overall, you did a great job.

Pugz: Wow, this is really beautiful. I first thought of it as a 'sailor' type of thing, with the high buttons and stuff. It's really adorable! This looks like it would translate well between swimming and partying. The hair is great, and so are the shoes, which will definitely help you in the main results today. However, we do have some criticism, but use it to help you improve next week. First off, why the blue toe nails? Red would have "fit" much better. It looks as if you didn't know what to do so you just slapped some blue on. Red would have looked nicer and would have complimented the splashes of red on the outfit. One judge thought that the outfit fits the entire theme because you won't usually see a cut like that (on the bottom of the bathing suit) on a person at an evening party. Nonetheless, this is definitely a beautiful outfit and you can see the effort. The colors are very elegant and it would work as both a bathing suit and party outfit.

Holli: Holli?! What happened, gal? You had all this awesome shading and technique in the past two weeks, and this week, it looked like you gave up.This makes a really nice swimsuit, but it doesn't really fit the entire theme. For instance, you wouldn't see an outfit with a cut around the belly like that on the body of a party guest. There also isn't much to this outfit and it looks like it was made in about 7-ish minutes. We were all really disappointed and thought that you could've taken bigger risks. I mean, do you really want this? Do you really want to be crowned champion of PGS? There is almost nothing on the outfit and it looked like you lost hope.We know you can design, we've seen it in your outfits, but this really is sad knowing how talented you are.

Faboo: What a cute bathing suit! It's really pretty...however a bit too simple. We would have loved to see more to the outfit. It's more predictable than pretty. One judge thought that there's not much to it, so not much to rave about, but on the other hand, not much to critique either. You're playing a little safe here, Faboo, when we want risk takers. The color is pretty for a bathing suit, maybe a bit too "out there" for an evening wear. The shading was very nice at the bottom. Another judge said that they would of liked to see a little more personality in it. You could have used the sufficient space on the top of the outfit to make it more fancier. Overall, it's really neat and cute.

Ange: Each week, you bring even more to this competition, Ange. This is really cute! One judge even thought that it was one of the best swimsuits they've seen on all of GirlSense! Unfortunately the other judges were a little iffy on this. One judge thought that althought the bathing suit was nice, the tights just seemed a little odd and out of place, although they technically ARE in the right place. One judge thought that the addition of tights was a little too distracting. Nonetheless, it's a great entry. Now, to the criticism: The bathing suit is great, the chains are fab, and the hat and purse are adorable. BUT would you wear this to a party with the cuts on the side? The tights really bring out the cut at the bottom of the actual bathing suit part, which you wouldn't really be able to wear to a party. The shoes also could have been done a little neater. Overall Ange, this is really fabulous and we're all so glad that you're coming through.

Katy: Katy............this is amazing. It's so fabulous how you took such a risk and made it totally out of the ordinary. The cutouts are perfect, and I cannot explain to you how much I adore the bottom-ish part of the dress where it separates into four little things that stick out...it's marvelous. You understood the challenge PERFECTLY this week, and definitely showed us that you deserved to be here. But the sparkly hair doesn't go at all. She stepped it back up this week! One judge loved it so much: "It's so unusual and unique! I can see it as a swimsuit AND a dress to wear to a club. She nailed that part of the challenge." Out of all the contestants, you have definitely stepped it up the most. Okay, now, of course, we just HAD to find something to pick on. :P ......You were this close to having a perfect score *holds up finger and thumb* if it wasn't for the gold hair that sticks out too much to like. It looks to yellow instead of gold. We would have preffered maybe just sticking to the original hair colors, or putting it as a VERY light gold. Now gals who are reading Katy's comments, THIS IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR!!!! You should feel proud Katy. You are one of the gals here overall who is by far the most unique designer.

Mall: Mall, we were all over this. The colors were gorgeous, the mascara was awesome, and the cut at the top ws great. However, this was more of evening wear than swimwear, seeing as the directions said that the actual swimwear outfit was the evening outfit without changing anything. So far, your outfits have been a little too predictable. One judge really wished the shoes were jeweled, to add a spark. There's not a whole lot I can say about it, it's really nice. For the next challenge, as I'm typing it up, I'm probably going to be able to imagine what you'll turn in as your entry. We really want MORE from you Mall, and unfortunately, because this was a little too predictable, I was forced to take off points. It really is beautiful, though!

Chloe: Okay Chloe, you've got immunity for this week, so you don't have to worry about getting out this week. However, we're going to give you some pointers so you know what to do next week. Unfortunately, if it wasn't for your immunity from last week, you would've been in the bottom 3 or so. :( The outfit was too simple, and you wouldn't normally see someone wearing something like this to an evening party. The cut was very revealing. One judge thought that it was such a disappointment after last week. It's too simple overall but you did get a couple of points added on because of the hair and jewelry. Next week, we really want more from you.

Swimmer: Very cute! However, this was extremely hard to judge due to how squished up the print screen was, and again there was a huge unnecessary white space on the right. Nonetheless, the colors are brilliant, the cut is gorgeous, and the hair is great. We thought that you could've done a little bit more with this, and it was a little too simple. decos would have been fabulous with this, however you seemed to have left them out. Despite that, it's an overall very pretty outfit.

Kitten: Kitten, you've managed to hang on in the past couple of weeks, but will it be enough for this week? I think so. This was beautiful! A little TOO dressy for swimming, yes. As eveningwear, however, it's perfect. The color is very nice, although almost identical to last week's color. We love how you're getting better each week! Next week, we suggest staying away from the 'boxy' feel of your clothes. Does that make sense? It's pretty much like the dress/outfit looks very box-like instead of curved, the way that a body should look like. Compared to all the other entries, you may have to step it up a notch, but when compared by yourself with your previous entries, you're doing much better.

Now, to the results.
