Challenge 4 Results

Welcome, gals, to week 4 of Project GirlSense. The competitors have been working hard all of the weeks...except for this one. It's almost as if NONE of the entries really wowed us. Who will stay? But most importantly, who will go? Let's get started with the critiques In no particular order, here are the entries.

Mall: We all agreed that this was most definitely Barbie material. You definitely used the color pink to your advantage. All judges agreed that this was definitely on it's way to the Barbie box! However, there were a couple of things that got us confused. Why you used a light pink when you had such a dark pink on the top and boots, we'll never know! Unfortunately, one judge thought that the accessories actually made the outfit, rather than the other way around. Also, if you made the wig BLONDE instead of BLACK, it would've looked even MORE Barbie. Nonetheless, we see you have grasped the idea of the theme this week, and we're proud. (BTW, is that *cough* shading I see?)

Ange: Ange, this has got to be your best entry yet! However, in almost every entry of yours, you always have something that doesn't match. For example, in this one, you have to stick to either silver OR gold, but not both. It makes it clash too much. Although, in this entry, it's not that noticeable. The purse also sticks out a little too much...making it black and that little stripe thing white would've worked out better. Also, why the blue/purple ish eyeshadow? It doesn't match the outfit as a whole. However, we really liked the whole outfit! The gloves were great, and the whole outfit looked really cool--1950's-1960's-esque! Awesome! The shoes were a little too bulky though, and we suggest next time trimming them so they are as close to the skin as possible. Again, we are REALLY proud of your work and the improvements you have been making...we see each week you improve more and more! As we said with mall, if you threw in a blonde wig, it would've made it even more Barbie-ish. Great job this week!

Katy: I have to tell you, Katy, we're running out of words to describe your outfits! I believe we haven't used this one, though: FABULOUS!!! Very very cute outfit! Something about it really made it Barbie. Unfortunately, there were no shoes, and that was REALLY a shame because you were close to.......well, I'm not going to give that away yet. ;) The whole idea of having a "bathing suit" underneath was cute. There were a couple of things that got us, however. One, see the bottom skirt-thingy? We would have ADORED this outfit more if you didn't make a cut in between the legs, and just made the skirt thing an actual skirt thing rather than poofy pants/shorts. Also, and I consistently tell you this but I never see it in your fashions, try making the decos SMALLER in order to add a sense of proffessionalism to the whole outfit. It adds a nice touch if you do so. I personally thought it lacked decos. I would've kept the "bathing suit" as is, without decos (except for that CUTE 'B'!!) and made the skirt top/bottom thing a little more intricate. This would require making the decos smaller. We would've loved to see more accessories to your outfit. However, all in all, great job.

Faboo: Hmm...I've never seen a Barbie without shoes. :O LOL where are the shoes, gal? Unfortunately, as with Katy, we deducted points because of that. As for the outfit, we were a little dissapointed. Barbie outfits are almost always OUT THERE and really POP...a little opposite of this. It was a little too formal, and we wish you would've made it more fun, if you know what I'm saying. However, the silver decos at the top were cute! We were worried that you didn't understand the challenge as well as we thought...a continued issue with a majority of your outfits. We know you can design, it's evident...you have fabulous taste. However, you're not understanding the main idea as well as we'd like. Keep trying, you're almost there!

Swimmer: This is really hard to judge because we couldn't see a thing. :( Shame, because it looks like a lovely design from far away. The dress is really pretty, but we don't know how well it fits into the theme. The silver at the top is gorgeous, but out from nowhere comes the white...it doesn't fit very well. It's coming over the front on the left but in the back on the right...it makes it looks strange. Unfortunately we really can't judge this because we can't see it. From far away, it looks pretty, though!

Lizzy: Hmmmmm....hmmm....*stares a little more*...hmm...okay...It's pretty. Definitely defintes what Barbie is, but there could've been more to the outfit. BTW is that shading on the wig? *shakes finger* xP If it weren't for the color combo, we would've thought that this was too formal for the challenge as a whole. Usually you have a better grasp on the challenge, so this week we were a litte surprised. However, it's cute...we just want our old Lizzy back next week...the one who creates the crazies outfits and still pulls it off!

Pugz: We were really two-faced about this outfit. Let's start with the pluses. You are the only competitor to step away from the girly side of Barbie, and really show off the different choice of colors! Nice job on that. The beret is very cute. The fishnets are defentely a plus, and my oh my is that belt amazing or what?! The lips are also FABULOUS! Now, the minuses. Unfortunately, there were a couple of those. I guess you can just sit back and relax because you aren't getting elminated today due to your immunity, but take this into consideration for you can use it next week. Almost everything besides mentioned above is out of place. The shading is most definitely the most out of place. That huge white stain in the middle of the skirt? A big no-no. Also, the stains on the shirt were opposite; you should put the lighter stains on the chest area and then the dark stains go on the edges of the fashion. Also the shoes are pointed outward...odd much? xD Hahaha, not only that, but the earrings are most definitely out of place...they're hanging off of the cheek-ish area...? FABULOUS, lovely, outfit, but it wasn't executed very well, as one judge put it. Not to worry, another judge gave you a perfect score because they loved it so much. (:

Chloe: We felt that this was really really rushed. It was almost like you did it last minute! :O However, you did it well. This outfit is actually really cute. The off the shoulder fashion is very Barbie-esque. One judge said that "the stockings and shoes are OK, but with some knee high go-go boots, this could have been a near perfect score from me! I think she really hit it with the design, just everything around it [takes some points off]." I personally think that fishnets and leggings do not go well together...I would've extended them down if you wanted to do fishnets. Also, different shades of pink do not go well together. We wish you made that match the actual color of the main dress/shirt.We were also confused if that bottom black thing was a skirt or just the bottom of the dress...? One judge said that you could have continued the polka dots until there was only like an inch or two from the bottom of the dress to add the black. The shoes were also a little down-side of the outfit. It would have been nice if you added a bow to it or something. Overall, you did pretty good! :)

Swimmer, you are ALSO SAFE!!! Kitten unfortunately stepped out of the competition due to real life, which means that we would've have lost a week if one of you were eliminated. If someone were to be eliminated, however, it would unfortunately Faboo, based on her overall performance throughout all the weeks.

Adios, until next week!
